South Korea's City of the Future
I'm watching the Science Channel as we speak. Its about a new city being built in Asia...by creating "land" to be built upon.
As much as this is a great thing for business, development, and landscape architects like ourselves, are we building/living where we are not meant to? Or will this new sustainable city be like the titanic, that will never sink? Sure this is an engineering breakthrough, but so was that.....
For sure this is a beautiful project, and a great "idea" and although it is under construction and nearing completion, is this what is best for mother earth? Will this "reclaimed mud" be able to withstand the human and built environment? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Check out this article for more info on the project!
